Teach me

I keep you tied up in the back of my head
You whisper
Teach me
Teach me how you hurt someone
And leave them begging for more
Teach me
Teach me how you loved so fearlessly
But not anymore  
Teach me
Teach me how your soul was as bloody as my heart
But why doesn’t it exist anymore
Teach me
Teach me how your eyes were burning so bright
And now merely  an icy wasteland awaits

And I am left shocked in my stance
How can I explain That this is the only way
I can breathe
How can I explain that this is the only way
I can stay away from the word that destroys me
